Summary:
There are
two best friend who have different personality name Nicolette and Lindsay.
Nicolette Spicer is a tomboy girl, while Lindsay is a girly girl. Nicolette as known
as Nick is a basketball player and usually wear T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers
everywhere even at wedding party. There is
another girl name Hannah Weaver. She is really popular girl among the school.
Nick can’t be compared with Hannah even though Hannah is also a basketball
player. Hannah is a little bit selfish. Whenever they play basketball and Nick
is opened, she would never pass the ball to Nick. They will never become one
One
day, Nick and Lindsay is eating at school canteen. Nick is pouring some water
to her bottle but when she is about to go back to Lindsay she bumps into a boy
name Ben and soaks his shirts. Nick feel sorry to him but he say it’s alright. At
that time, Nick fall in love for the first sight and first time. Lindsay see
all the occurrence from afar. She tells Nick that she knows who is he. He is on
the tech crew for the play ,his full name is Ben Reynolds, and also he doesn’t
have girlfriend. Then Nick ask Lindsay who she likes at that time, but she
doesn’t feel like talking about it because she thinks that he doesn’t like her.
After the
chit-chat it’s time to play basketball. Nick is always open. Nevertheless the
selfish player Hannah always plays by her self. Nick dislikes it, even the
coach. The coach always reminds her to play in a group not her self. After all
the tiring day, it’s time to go home. At the locker room, the girls start to
chat about a party that will be held at Hannah house. Hannah invites all
student even though she doesn’t want to invite Nick. At first Nick doesn’t want
to come, but because someone says that Ben will be there too, she instantly
changes her mind. She ask Lindsay to help her for the makeover so Ben will look
at her. There are only ten days to do the makeover and the first day is this
day.
The second
day, Lindsay fetched Nick from her house to sleepover at Lindsay’s house. They did
some makeup. Lindsay helped Nick to put on some eyeliner, mascara, lipstick,
and any other product. Lindsay’s sister said harsh comment, like ready to go to
clown university. They thought that Nick needed a makeover for her clothes. So they
took over Lindsay’s job. They put off Nick’s makeup and put other makeup. They made
Nick wear short-skirt. They made Nick to be a girly girl.
The third
day, they went shopping. They went into several high class stores. No sooner
they arrived at the store, Nick only attracted by T-shirt, belt, and also jacket.
They were tired and rested for a while. Unexpectedly, they met Hannah there. She
made fun of Nick. To release their anger, they went to a
grand-opening-sale-store. And buy some clothes.
The fourth
day, they went shopping for makeup. The famous store is called Charlie. Fortunately
Charlie him self was there to guide them. He gave them special price for the
product and also put on some makeup on them. They went to a party which Lindsay’s
family were invited. There was Ben and also Hannah too. Then they saw a boy at
their age. They were aiming that boy to be Nick’s partner practice. His named
is Greg Fisher. He liked sport especially wrestling. He liked to talk about his hobbies and Nick
could only act as if she understood. Not long after that the party change into
a dance floor. Nick fall on to the floor and get Ben attention. She was very
happy.
The fifth
day, Nick tried to dress up but it turned out to be weird and there was a weird rumor spreading over the school. Nick was going out with
Grey Fisher. Fortunately Ben didn’t see her that day.
The sixth day, Nick met Greg. Greg told her to come to his
wrestling competition. Nick told hers too. At school, Nick found Lindsay having
a chit-chat with Ben. Nick tried to join the conversation but it was ended with
Nick’s bombarded Ben few questions before Ben had to go home with Hannah,
again. But the happy news was, Ben promised to have a little party which was
eating ice cream after the basketball competition.
The seventh day, it was the wrestling competition. Nick went
with Lindsay. After the competition, they went to celebrate for the winning of
Greg’s wrestling group. Greg asked Nick and Lindsay to join them. But they
refused because the way they celebrating were disgusting. They would eat
chicken wings and see who was the fastest.
The eighth day, it was the basketball competition. Nick
played fairly to Hannah even though at first, Hannah didn’t notice Nick, again.
Their team won it. When Lindsay and Ben were approaching and asking to go to
eat ice cream, suddenly Greg interrupted their conversation and asked Nick to
go with him instead. Then Ben was asked by Hannah to eat pizza together.
The ninth day, Nick felt sad and she didn’t want to be a
girly girl in front of Ben anymore. She decided to not wear any girly outfit.
The tenth day, she came to Hannah’s party but with only
simply outfit. When she was there, there was information that made her shock.
Ben was actually soon-to-be-Hannah’s brother. Then, she met Ben and started to
talk to each other comfortably. They saw Lindsay and a boy, and then they were
going out to eat ice cream instead staying at the party.
This book is actually easy to be read, but I think the
compatible reader will be a teenagers. It has a good plot, but the plot twist
is not really interesting. The moral value from this book are be your self and never give up. The negative side of this book is it seems life is easy to be changed by us. Enjoy your life. Just the way you are ^^
